Bei der Frontansicht ist darauf zu achten, dass die Löcher für die Schraubbefestigung
in hervorstehenden Laschen untergebracht sind. Es gibt auch Chassis, deren Gehäuse
kreisrund sind – diese passen aufgrund der Gegebenheiten nicht in die Squeezebox Boom,
sofern man nicht am Gehäuse feilt.
In the frontal view you have to take care that the screw holes for fixing
the woofer are located in extruding flaps. There are woofers whose casing is completely
circular – those will not fit inside the Squeezebox Boom, unless you are prepared to file
down the frame.
In Seitenansicht ist vor allem auf die Gesamttiefe des Chassis zu achten. Am Magneten
befinden sich noch 2 mm Dämmung, so dass der Lautsprecher fest an der Rückwand des
Gehäuses sitzt. Ein kürzerer Lautsprecher wäre kein Problem und bräuchte diese
Dämmung nicht.
Die Frage ist natürlich immer, wie es am Ende klingen wird.
Viewed from the side you have to watch the overall depth of the woofer.
There is 2 mm of foam attached to the back of the magnet so the woofer fits snugly into
the back panel of the case. A shorter woofer would not be a problem and would not need
this foam.
However the question always remains how this will affect the sound in the
end.
